Tritron invests €9.4m in new ‘Ink-Cube’ production facility

German digital printing ink specialist Tritron GmbH is investing €9.4 million in a major infrastructure expansion, centred on a new 2,900m² production facility it has named the Ink-Cube.

The facility, which is scheduled to go into operation in July, represents an investment of approximately €7.6 million and has been purpose-built for the manufacture of UV and UV-LED inks for industrial digital printing.

It will more than double Tritron's previous production capacity, allowing up to six large ink batches to run simultaneously. Part of the company's cartridge production will also transfer to the new premises, while existing facilities will be retained as a backup.

'The Ink-Cube is our direct response to surging global demand for our digital printing inks,' said Dr Jens Simon, managing director. 'Our goal is to elevate customer satisfaction and on-time delivery to a new level through this substantial capacity expansion.'

Environmental and safety provisions were built into the design from the outset. The facility includes specialist firewater retention systems and extraction equipment for raw material weighing processes, protecting both employees and the surrounding environment.

The remaining €1.8 million of the total investment has gone towards a new administrative building, completed in summer 2025, which includes a cafeteria. Managing director Harald Specht described it as a statement of intent on workplace culture: 'Our goal was to create an environment that fosters a strong team culture and provides a workplace where our staff truly feels at home.'

A new technical centre for research and development is also under construction within the former administrative complex.

Tritron's headcount has grown by more than 55% over the past two years to 53 employees.
