Aptar Beauty has announced local manufacturing of its AAT Vertical Slider Aerosol Valve at its Cary, Illinois facility, targeting brands working with high-powder and shimmer formulations such as dry shampoos, glitter sprays, hair volumisers and foot powders.
The valve's 3.5mm straight shank stem is designed to address clogging, one of the most persistent challenges in particle-rich aerosol formulations. Conventional valve designs can allow stem gasket flexing during actuation, promoting powder build-up that leads to inconsistent performance, propellant leakage and reduced product evacuation.
The AAT stem minimises gasket flexing and wipes residual powder from the stem during each use to maintain consistent flow and prevent blockage.
Ryan Kenny, president of Aptar Beauty North America, said the Illinois localisation reflects the company's aim to combine technical innovation with supply chain agility, offering brands faster lead times and greater responsiveness.
The valve is compatible with Aptar Beauty's range of aerosol actuators, including twist-to-lock, hooded and button formats, available in matte and gloss finishes with customisable colour options.
