US aerosol packaging firm celebrates opening of new facility
US aerosol packaging company Tri-Pac has celebrated the grand opening of its new facility in Indiana. The new $8 million (€7.2 million), 65,000 square foot facility is set over 10 acres in the city of South Bend.
The contract filling and packaging company, specialising in over-the-counter and speciality aerosols and liquids, confirmed its plans to relocate from Michigan to Indiana in 2017.
Tri-Pac focuses on producing its packaging in a sustainable way to reduce its impact on the environment by recycling aluminium and steel aerosols cans and using PET aerosols. The firm is already operating in the area, and was welcomed by community business leaders, as well as state and local officials in an opening ceremony.
It has been reported by Inside Indiana Business that the company’s decision to move was based on receiving guaranteed tax abatements. In return, Tri-Pac committed to creating up to 70 new jobs by the end of 2020, of which half have already been created and filled.
