Aerosols event updates – Covid-19 outbreak

Aerosols events worldwide are being postponed in light of the recent Covid-19 (or coronavirus) outbreak. While many events have been rescheduled for later in the year, others have yet to confirm a new date. The following events have been affected:

Vision 2020 - National Aerosols Association Summit, Nashville, Tennessee

Postponed - New dates TBC

"This conference has been postponed due to the Covid-19 virus. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please stand by for upcoming details."

Aerosol 2020, Australia

Postponed - New dates TBC

"After careful monitoring of the ongoing advice in regard to Covid-19, the association's executive committee today resolved that the 'aerosol2020' Gala Awards Dinner on 2 April and the 'Introduction to Aerosol Technology' training course scheduled for 31 March will not proceed.

"As some of you may be aware, last week we made the reluctant decision to not proceed with the Industry Forum planned for 1 April, given its international focus and the more public nature of its venue. Since that decision, the tone of the advice from health authorities has escalated considerably and it is obvious that the next 2-4 weeks will be a testing time for our nation, prompting a review of the future of the remaining 'aerosol2020' events."

British Aerosol Manufacturers' Association (BAMA) Innovation Day, Leeds, UK

Rescheduled - 7 July 2020

"Although the UK Government has not yet formally restricted large gatherings, a number of companies have restricted staff movements due to the Covid-19 outbreak. To ensure speakers, exhibitors and attendees get the maximum from the day, BAMA has taken the decision to postpone its 2020 Innovation Day.

"The event will take place on Tuesday 7 July still at the original venue, the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds."

Patrick Heskins, chief executive of BAMA, said: "BAMA is grateful to the Royal Armouries for working so positively with us to organise another date at such short notice. We take the health and safety of our members and delegates extremely seriously, and it is with their best interests in mind that we have taken the decision to re-schedule this popular event.

"We look forward to welcoming some of the industry's most creative manufacturers and influential thought leaders on the new date in July."

Beautyworld, Dubai World Trade Centre

Rescheduled - 17-19 August 2020

"Exhibitors, associations and visitors have expressed their concerns to us, in particular around travel restrictions that would limit the ability of many stakeholders to attend the show in May.

"We're also conscious of our duty of care, and reiterate that the safety and wellbeing of exhibitors and visitors is the highest priority as we navigate these challenging times. We assure you that all appropriate health and safety measures will be in place when Beautyworld Middle East opens later in the year."

Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna

Rescheduled - 3-7 September 2020

"Following the release of the emergency decrees to limit the spread of Novel Coronavirus in Italy, as well as the latest restrictions confirmed by other countries in Europe, Asia and the American continent to limit international travel, BolognaFiere Cosmoprof SpA, the organiser of the event, has announced a further postponement of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2020.

To secure the investments of companies and operators in the cosmetic industry, the event will take place from 3 to 7 September 2020.

METPACK 2020

Rescheduled - 23-27 February 2021

"METPACK, which was planned for the period from 5-9 May 2020 is being postponed and will take place at Messe Essen from 23-27 February 2021. Thus, the international trade fair for metal packaging will, as accustomed, run parallel to interpack, which is also being postponed."

Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen, said: "For the participants in our fair, we have created planning security with the new dates. I am very pleased that, in close coordination with the cooperation partners of METPACK, it has been possible to reschedule the trade fair to the end of February 2021 into the accustomed surroundings of interpack. I thank everybody involved for the close and trustful collaboration in this particular situation characterised by force majeure."

"In the current framework conditions, the new dates of METPACK are the ideal solution," said Wolfgang Niemsch, chairman of the METPACK Committee and general manager of Lanico Maschinenbau Otto Niemsch. "They will ensure the accustomed closed presentation of the sector and will permit the necessary lead time for all the participants.

"In particular, I would like to thank Messe Essen, which, with its efforts, is making the accustomed duo of fairs possible not only for us as exhibitors, but also for the visitors. That is not a matter of course with a full calendar of events."

interpack

Rescheduled - 25 February to 3 March 2021

"Messe Düsseldorf is postponing the leading international trade fair interpack. It will now take place from 25 February to 3 March 2021.

"In doing so, Messe Düsseldorf is following the recommendation of the crisis management team of the German Federal Government to take into account the principles of the Robert Koch Institute when assessing the risk of major events. Based on this recommendation and the recent significant increase in the number of people infected with the new coronavirus, including in Europe, Messe Düsseldorf has reassessed the situation.

"In addition, there is the general ruling issued by the city of Düsseldorf on 11 March 2020, in which major events with more than 1,000 participants present at the time are generally prohibited."
