Aerosol trade association International Organisation of Aluminium Aerosol Container Manufacturers (AEROBAL) announced the winner of its World Aluminium Aerosol Can Award 2018 at its General Assembly meeting in Dusseldorf.
According to the press release, nine ‘highly regarded’ journalists from ‘important’ packaging journals and media from across the world selected the best and most innovative products from two categories: cans that were already on the market, and prototypes.
Nivea Body Mousse from Beiersdorf received the most votes for a can that is already on the market. AEROBAL described the product impressing the judges ‘in every respect’.
The can itself is produced by German manufacturer Tubex.
The prototypes category was won by the Eyeris Fox can from Ball UK. The can is described as ‘unimaginable’ and a stepping stone in graphics design for aerosol cans, especially as a result of the significantly improved reproduction of photorealistic elements.
“The good market development at the moment, with growth of almost five per cent in the first half of the year, is also attributable in part to our members’ continuing willingness to innovate, which the results of this year’s competition demonstrate,” said AEROBAL secretary general, Gregor Spengler.
“Time and time again, the most advanced forming techniques allow to produce interesting new shapes; and optimised and perfected printing processes are now being used to obtain fantastic creative elements and designs.”
