2021 Outlook – “The expected strengthening of federal government agencies offers an opportunity for significant progress”
Every four years, the US holds a Presidential election. In November, Joe Biden was elected President of the United States, shifting the power of the US’ Executive Branch from the Republicans to the Democrats.
On 5 January 2021, the full composition of the Senate was revealed. The Democrats won both runoff elections, creating a 50-50 split in the Senate, with the tiebreaker going to Vice President Kamala Harris, meaning the Democrats control the Executive Branch and both houses of Congress and can pass legislation at a faster pace. No matter what happens at the federal level, there is plenty of legislative and regulatory activity expected in the US. Still, even without that knowledge, we know that the US aerosol industry is going to have to react to new policies as the Biden Administration works to implement their initiatives, but that also creates new opportunities.
