SABRE launches connected pepper spray with GPS emergency alerts

SABRE has launched the SABRE Smart Pepper Spray, a connected personal safety device combining its maximum-strength pepper spray formulation with real-time GPS alert technology, aimed at speeding up emergency response times for users.

The device pairs with SABRE's free companion mobile app and automatically notifies preselected emergency contacts with the user's live location when either the spray's detachable alert button or the app's in-app panic button is activated — including in situations where the spray itself is deployed. The alert triggers instantly, without requiring the user to unlock their phone, place a call or send a message, sharing real-time GPS tracking with contacts so they can assess the situation and respond.

SABRE said the product is designed for everyday personal safety scenarios, including walking alone at night, college campus settings, running and outdoor activity, commuting or rideshare travel, and visiting unfamiliar areas.

Alongside its connected features, the device retains the specification of SABRE's standard pepper spray range: a 12–14 foot range, up to 10 seconds of spray time, a flip-top safety mechanism for quick one-handed deployment, and an ergonomic finger grip for aim and control, housed in a compact, discreet format for everyday carry, with a battery designed for long-term reliability.

David Nance, CEO of SABRE, said the product reflected the company's view that personal safety extends beyond stopping a threat in the moment to ensuring help is notified immediately, so that users are not alone in an emergency.

The launch positions the Smart Pepper Spray within a wider shift in the personal safety category from standalone self-defense products toward connected safety systems built around real-time awareness and communication.
