US men's personal care brand Dr. Squatch has launched a spray sunscreen, marking its first entry into the sun care category.
The mineral SPF 30 formula uses zinc oxide as its active ingredient, delivering broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection. The brand says more than 98% of ingredients are of natural origin, with zinc oxide supplemented by vitamin E and coconut alkanes. The spray format is designed for quick, even application.
The product launches in two scented variants — Coconut Castaway and Amber Solstice — reflecting the brand's positioning around fragrance as a point of differentiation in a category it says has historically been dominated by chemical-heavy, unscented formulas.
Dr. Squatch, which describes itself as the leading natural men's personal care brand in the US, said the launch is aimed at addressing low sunscreen uptake among male consumers, citing perceptions around greasy texture and poor ingredient quality as barriers to regular use.
