Paul Mitchell launches 3-Day No Frizz aerosol

Paul Mitchell (John Paul Mitchell Systems) has launched 3-Day No Frizz Spray, a fragrance-free aerosol hair care product designed to deliver frizz control lasting up to 72 hours across humidity conditions.

The aerosol formulation combines three functional benefits: humidity resistance, thermal protection up to 450°F and lightweight styling benefits in a single delivery format. The formula works on both damp and dry hair, enabling application flexibility across grooming workflows.

The core technology centres on a lightweight film-forming polymer that creates an invisible humidity-resistant barrier around individual hair fibres, reducing moisture absorption whilst maintaining hair smoothness without stiffness. A specialised silicone blend provides thermal protection during blow-drying and heat styling whilst contributing to a polished, shine-enhancing finish.

From a formulation perspective, conditioning agents and silicones create a more uniform hair surface that improves light reflection, delivering enhanced shine without product buildup. The vegan formula operates in fragrance-free aerosol format, positioning it for consumers prioritising performance over scent additives.

Application options include air-drying after application to damp hair for frizz control and manageability, or blow-drying followed by flat iron styling for maximum frizz reduction. The product can also be applied to dry hair for light frizz control and shine enhancement between styling sessions.

Humidity represents the primary frizz driver because hair naturally absorbs moisture from air. As water enters the hair fibre, it causes the cuticle layer to lift, creating a rougher surface that appears frizzy. The aerosol delivery system enables even distribution of the protective polymer across hair surfaces, a key requirement for consistent humidity resistance across varying hair types and conditions.

Bri Stanton, product development at John Paul Mitchell Systems, stated that the formula combines humidity resistance, thermal protection and lightweight styling benefits within a single aerosol format. He noted that purposeful formulation and performance-driven innovation have defined Paul Mitchell's approach to addressing styling challenges.

The product targets both professional stylists and consumers seeking extended frizz control through the aerosol delivery mechanism, which enables rapid, even application across hair surfaces.
