The British Aerosol Manufacturers' Association has appointed Nicola Jones as Regulatory Manager, replacing Dr Paul Jackson who is stepping down after nearly 30 years in the role.
Jackson will leave his position in December following a three-month handover period beginning in September when Jones takes up the post.
Jones joins BAMA from Tata Steel UK, where she spent 27 years in roles focused on market and business development. Most recently, she led cross-sector product strategy aligned with sustainability and recycling principles, managing value propositions from concept through to commercialisation and representing the company at major European conferences.
Her industry involvement extends beyond Tata, with roles including chair of the MPMA PR Committee and committee membership of Steel for Packaging Europe's Sustainability Working Group. She also served on the Advisory Committee for Packaging. Her contributions have been recognised through awards including Global Recycling Champion and UK Packaging Woman of the Year 2024.
BAMA Chief Executive Patrick Heskins said Jackson had made an immense contribution not only to the association but to the aerosol industry as a whole during his tenure. "The team at BAMA wish him all the very best for his well-earned next chapter," Heskins added.
Jones said she was looking forward to bringing measurable value to BAMA's work. "Having been actively involved with trade associations, it's a pleasure to be working with a flagship association, widely acknowledged for strengthening aerosol industry standards and working hard for a diverse membership base," she said.
"Having known Paul professionally for over 20 years, it's a privilege to be taking the reins from such a respected member of the aerosol community, and I extend my best wishes to him for his upcoming retirement."
Heskins added that Jones's proactive involvement in shaping industry policy and her in-depth knowledge of UK packaging regulations were significant assets to the association and its members.
