Silgan Holdings acquires Albéa’s dispensing business
Silgan Holdings has purchased Albéa’s Dispensing Systems business, including its metal (Covit Europe & US) and Brazil industrial clusters, in a $900 million (€805 million) agreement signed in January.
Silgan, a leading supplier of sustainable rigid packaging solutions for consumer goods products, operates 110 manufacturing facilities globally and is a leading supplier of metal and plastic closures and dispensing systems for healthcare, personal care, beauty, food, home and garden products.
François Luscan, president and CEO of Albéa, which manufactures ‘everyday’ packaging and beauty solutions, including sprayers and pumps, said: “Albéa will now focus its energy and resources on its legacy tubes, cosmetic rigid packaging and beauty solutions businesses.
“Each business will leverage its unique value proposition, including product offering, industrial footprint, business model and key assets – as well as Albéa’s distinctive culture and strong commitment to corporate social responsibility. We wish the best going forward to all the teams joining Silgan for an exciting future.”
In 2020, Silgan Dispensing launched two new aerosol packaging products at ADF&PCD and PLD Paris. The Sinfonia Crème pump for ‘prestige skincare’ and colour cosmetics and the Aerohead Plus product form part of Silgan’s aerosol product portfolio.
