Coster announces acquisition of French metal anodisation company

Coster, a leading multinational provider of spray packaging solutions and filling equipment, has acquired Catidom SAS – a French metal anodisation company. The two companies signed an agreement on 15 November, meaning Coster will acquire the remaining 60% of Catidom’s share capital from Vacheron Industries.

Both Catidom and Coster are family-owned companies. From its production site in Annecy, France, Catidom serves clients in the beauty packaging, sport, mechanical, automotive and leisure markets. Its fully-automated production lines are patented throughout Europe, Asia and North America. It is hoped the acquisition will strengthen the position of both companies in the beauty packaging sector, and confirm Catidom’s position in the mechanical, leisure, automotive and sport markets.

Bernard Msellati, CEO of Coster, said: “The employees and management of Coster are excited at the prospect of integrating metal anodisation in their product offering. It will secure the supply of anodised aluminium components and add complementary services, such as metal colouring, to our perfumery portfolio, a strategic sector we are looking to expand.

“Catidom, on the other side, will be able to leverage Coster’s international positioning and financial resources to accelerate its growth plan in luxury packaging whilst continuing to develop its automotive and other technical markets.

“I wish to thank Frederic Vacheron for his passion and foresight, he and his team established a beautiful company based on the values of technical excellence, integrity, sustainability and innovation – which are the same we share in Coster. The two companies will now closely work together to pursue our common growth objectives.”

Once the acquisition is finalised, Catidom will continue to operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coster.
