ADF&PCD New York 2019 – Event review

On 17-18 September 2019, ADF&PCD New York took over The Altman Building in midtown Manhattan. North America’s only dedicated event for the aerosol, dispensing, perfume and cosmetic packaging community welcomed delegates for two days of innovation and discussion. Exhibitors from across the globe brought their latest technologies, including Procter & Gamble’s (P&G) 100% polymeric aerosol container technology, and Aerofil’s augmented reality tour of its new state-of-the-art personal care aerosol filling line.

Sustainability

After opening remarks from the chair – Nicholas Georges of the HCPA – conference speakers delved into some of the biggest changes, innovations and challenges in the aerosol industry today. Michael Mapes, CEO of Exal Corporation, relayed the results of its collaborative study with Buying Green on consumer attitudes towards sustainability. Interestingly, of the 5,000 people surveyed, 57% consider themselves to be environmentally-aware consumers, and 37% of people will not buy products with packaging that is harmful to the environment.
