Finnish paints manufacturer Maston has introduced Maston Water, a water-based spray paint formulated with Alkyd-PU binder technology designed for fast-drying coverage and extended durability.
The product delivers a long-lasting, dust-free finish with low odour, suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. PU resin chemistry provides weather resistance, whilst the formulation adheres to brick, cardboard, glass, metal, plastic and wicker substrates. A colour range including wood-tone shades is available.
Maston Water represents continued market shift toward low-VOC aerosol formulations, driven by tightening European Union and UK regulations on volatile organic compounds in paints and coatings. Water-based systems reduce solvent emissions whilst maintaining performance characteristics previously associated with solvent-borne aerosols.
The Alkyd-PU binder chemistry addresses long-standing technical challenges in water-based systems — rapid drying time, surface finish quality and adhesion uniformity — that historically limited adoption in professional and consumer spray applications.
