Power-Zero, a leading independent renewable power generation specialist, has partnered with Coster Aerosols to install a 1.24 MW solar array at its base in Chesterfield in Derbyshire, England, cutting its annual carbon emissions by 236 tonnes.
Coster Group, a family-owned multinational provider of spray packaging solutions and aerosol filling equipment, decided to work with Power-Zero as part of its growth plan based on sustainability and innovation.
The partnership will allow Coster Aerosols to lead the way in the green energy revolution within its sector, said the company.
The 1.24MW roof-mounted solar array, financed and operated by Power-Zero through a 15-year PPA contract, will generate over 1,000,000 kwH of electricity – offsetting nearly a quarter of the energy demand on site.
Coster Aerosols also has access to the Power-Zero Optimise portal which allows it to see real-time analytics and intuitive dashboards which now gives them visibility over their energy performance.
Power-Zero’s experience in designing custom solar solutions allowed it to tailor the installation to Coster Aerosol’s specific energy needs, optimising the system size and output to meet its operational requirements, without over-production.
As a result, by generating energy through the solar installation and having access to lower energy costs than grid electricity.
The Power-Zero team installed the rooftop solar PV system using 2,120 no. 580Wp solar modules and 8 Solis inverters.
Commenting on the new partnership, Power-Zero’s managing director Ian Gadsby said: “I’m delighted to see our work with Coster Aerosols offering such significant carbon and operational cost savings. With the ongoing energy price crisis and demand for businesses to reduce their reliance on fossil fuel-generated power, solar PPAs are continuing to be a popular option for competitive businesses.”
Gary Durant, Coster Aerosol’s financial controller, added: “This partnership with Power-Zero and delivery of an affordable solar solution represents a key strand of our growth plan, incorporating sustainability and innovation into our core ambition to provide the market with sustainable dispensing packaging solutions.
