LINDAL provides “very generous” sponsorship of girls’ rugby tour

LINDAL Group’s Litec Moulding facility in Ireland sponsored a local girls' rugby tour that took place in Holland earlier this month.
Spearheaded by LINDAL’s Litec injection moulding facility in Ireland, the sponsorship helped cover the costs of trip and competition entry for the 48 players from Ireland’s Westport Rugby Football Club taking part in the four-day tour from 3-6 May.
Held at Nijmegen Rugby Club, home to local Dutch side the Wasps, a series of competitive and friendly matches were played between each club’s Under 14s, 16s and 18s teams.
Kashif Choudhry, LINDAL’s marketing manager, said: “It’s a pleasure to have supported the tour. We believe there is a real synergy between manufacturing and rugby with both worlds dependent on strong teamwork, collaboration and, importantly, the involvement and positive impact from women to ensure a successful future.
“Through the sponsorship, we hope we have helped raise the profile of rugby to other young women who may be interested in taking up an inclusive sport that fosters positive attitudes and improved physical and mental well-being in players.”
As a women’s sport which can often lose players when they reach youth level, gaining sponsorship for the tour came as a welcome gesture to the Westport Club, LINDAL said.
WRFC president, Liz Brady, commented: “We are so grateful to the Lindal Group for its very generous support of the Youths Girls teams’ trip to Holland to play rugby, bond as a team, create memories they’ll remember forever and cultivate their love of and commitment to their sport.”
