BAMA launches updated aerosol technology course

The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association has announced a ‘make over’ of its technology course. Set over two days, the course covers aerosol regulation, formulations and filling, as well as advice on propellants, valves and containers from industry experts.

As part of the new format, BAMA’s course will incorporate a practical workshop in the UK aerosol laboratory of Lindal Valve. Here, participants will learn about valves, the basics of sealing the valve to the can and test out filling with different formulations. They will also have the opportunity to carry out lab tests on aerosols to measure the discharge rate, the particle size distribution and the flammability of the aerosols.

Patrick Heskins, BAMA's chief executive, said: “This course will benefit those across all functions within the industry. Whether you work in R&D or procurement, are a line operative or senior manager, this course distills all aspects of aerosol technology, showing how each part of the aerosol interacts to create a packaging format unlike any other.

“The new course will not only minimise travelling time and costs for those taking part, but deliver the practical experience while the theory is still fresh in their mind.”

The course cost now includes overnight accommodation and an evening meal, to provide networking opportunities, and will take place on 17 and 18 March 2020 in Milton Keynes. For more information, contact sallytilbury@bama.co.uk.
