HCPA promotes Christopher Finarelli to VP, state government relations
The Household & Commercial Products Association (HCPA) has promoted Christopher Finarelli to vice president of state government relations and public policy for the West Region, effective 1 June 2026.

Finarelli, who joined HCPA in January 2021, was previously senior director in the same function. In his new role he will continue leading the association's advocacy efforts across the western US, with a primary focus on California, covering legislation and regulation related to pesticide product registration, PFAS, microplastics, packaging policy and waste management.

Among his achievements at HCPA, Finarelli worked with California's Department of Pesticide Regulation to improve regulatory transparency and reduce delays in the pesticide registration process. Prior to joining HCPA, he served as deputy chief of staff and chief of staff to members of the California State Senate and Assembly.

Steve Caldeira, president and chief executive of HCPA, said Finarelli brings deep policy expertise and a solutions-oriented approach, and that his leadership will be critical as state legislative and regulatory activity continues to expand, particularly in California.

Finarelli said he looks forward to advancing practical, science-based policies and strengthening HCPA's voice in statehouses across the West.

HCPA represents companies manufacturing and selling $227 billion of household and commercial products annually, employing 308,000 people in the US.
