WIMBÉE’s cardboard cap disrupts a plastic-heavy market

WIMBÉE, a French packaging company, is setting a new standard for sustainable aerosol components. In partnership with Koehler Paper, it has launched the first fully recyclable cardboard cap for aerosols.

WIMBÉE’s cap is a recyclable, customisable alternative to traditional plastic closures. It has captured the attention of major players across cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and industrial markets thanks to its unique blend of sustainability, functionality, and branding potential.

Recently, the company partnered with German manufacturer Koehler Paper to produce the cap’s outer surface using Koehler NexCoat® Smart – a flexible packaging paper made from renewable raw materials. The material’s high fold-crack resistance, along with its excellent shaping and printing qualities, proved critical to the cap’s development.
