A shopping mall in Vancouver, British Columbia was partially evacuated on 2 December after someone discharged a pepper spray. According to a report by CTV News, retail workers at the Coquitlam Centre who witnessed the incident said the spray was released into the mall at around 4.15pm, causing shoppers to start coughing. One employee at the mall told CTV news it stung her eyes.

Local authorities have not released further information; including clarifying what the substance was, however, it is strongly believed to have been pepper spray.
