US fears too much is being done too quickly

Nicholas Georges, senior vice president of scientific and international affairs at the Household and Commercial Products Association (HCPA), explores the US market in the wake of a new president.

“People say Europe is the most regulated aerosol industry in the world, but you know, we’re not far behind in the United States,” Nicholas told a crammed conference hall at ADF Paris.

“The reality is, the US market is driven by the legislative and regulatory action that’s going on in our country right now. I have to start with the elephant in the room: president Trump is back in charge, and that certainly means a reversal of a number of the Biden administration’s policies.”

For example, at the federal level there is a regulatory freeze, and the US is seeing environmental pullbacks n certain regulations that were passed under the last administration – “and that’s before Congress can really get anything going.”

“Now we’ve got about 40 executives out of president Trump already [at the time the speech was given], 10 of which are already under litigation.”
