Trivium seeks to inspire young people with Manufacturing Day events

Trivium Packaging has launched a series of events designed to engage young people and educate them on the importance of manufacturing.

Trivium, a leading sustainable metal packaging company, with 60 locations worldwide, focuses on several types of packaging, including aerosols and food cans. The company announced its Manufacturing Day programming, ‘The Foundation for Generations: Yesterday, Today, tomorrow’ – a celebration of the manufacturing industry, will begin on 1 October.

The events - taking place throughout the month - will showcase the opportunities manufacturing can offer, from professional and technical jobs to operational services.

“Manufacturing is an essential part of all our lives,” said Jens Irion, Trivium’s president of the Americas. “Anything we use and consume is manufactured at some stage: our homes, our cars, our food, our comforts, our electronics.

“We are thrilled to engage with the communities around Trivium’s facilities by opening our doors to educate and inspire potential future employees. Manufacturing has been the backbone of society for generations. It is relevant today and will continue to be in the future.”

Five US locations will participate in the event – Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania; Reno, Nevada; Roanoke, Virginia; Weirton, West Virginia; and Youngstown, Ohio. Activities will include plant tours, job fairs, family and children’s activities, and educational tours for local schools, colleges and other career schools.

Held annually on the first Friday in October, Manufacturing Day helps to show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions to open their doors to students, parents, teachers and community leaders.

As manufacturers seek to fill 4 million jobs over the next 10 years, MFG Day empowers manufacturers to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
