The year in review

Philip Fleming, executive director of the Aerosol Association of Australia and secretary of the Asian Aerosol Federation, looks back on the past 12 months.

COVID-19 has profoundly affected the aerosol industry in the region covered by the Federation, just as it has impacted many other industries and many facets of our lives.

These impacts have varied between countries in magnitude and timing, reflecting the varying degree to which the pandemic has spread in their respective populations and the strategies taken by health officials and governments – ranging from the endeavours by governments in countries like Australia and New Zealand to ‘eliminate’ the virus, to those who have resisted imposing stricter controls.

Looking back over the past 12 months, the impact of work from home policies, ‘stay at home’ orders and the closure of entertainment, dining and function venues saw personal care fillings impacted negatively right across the region.
