Soudronic, Can Man, Frei join forces in metal packaging industry
Can Man is a family-owned firm that manufactures and sells equipment for the production of welded cans, pails and drums, while Frei, founded in 1975, is a manufacturer of seam protection systems for welded cans.
In a statement, Soudronic said: “For you as a customer of Soudronic, as well as of Can Man, it is important to know that Can Man will operate as an independent innovation and manufacturing platform.
“Production sites, employees as well as products, services and pricing will remain as they are. Can Man will keep on operating independently as Can Man in the market.”
Can Man owner Reudi Umbricht will remain responsible for the operation with his brother, Johnny, taking on the role of general manager. Additionally, Umbricht will take on the role of chief operations officer of Soudronic Group. In this new role, he will focus on new and existing business opportunities.
The goal of both firms is to strengthen the position of metal packaging with a focus on the three-piece can in the market through joint development. Soudronic commented: “Focus of this development will not only be the cost situation, but also convenience and product safety. We are convinced together we can have a much larger contribution to this industry.”
