The European Tube Manufacturers Association (etma) has announced the election of Seifeldin Raslan Mohamed as its new Secretary General.
The appointment was made during the organisation’s General Assembly held in Nice on 21 May 2025.
Mohamed takes over from Gregor Spengler, who is stepping down after more than three decades of service. Spengler has held the role of Secretary General for 31 years, during which time he played a pivotal role in shaping the direction and international standing of the European tube industry, stated etma.
“I am honoured to take on this important role and to build on the solid foundation laid by Gregor Spengler,” Mohamed said. “I look forward to working closely with etma’s members to proactively tackle the challenges and embrace the opportunities ahead for our industry.”
Reflecting on his time in office, Spengler expressed his gratitude: “It has been a great honour and a personal passion to serve as etma Secretary General. Contributing to the growth and global reputation of the tube industry has been immensely rewarding. I have particularly valued the opportunity to bring together representatives from across the supply chain and serve as a link between them. I am confident that etma is in excellent hands with my successor and will continue to flourish.”
