Samurai Paint sets regional records with mass aerosol car respray event

The challenge, staged from 6 to 8 February, earned official recognition from Asia Records and ASEAN Records for the highest number of full-body car spray paints using aerosol in a single event.
Notably, the company chose DIY enthusiasts rather than professional painters as participants, with the aim of demonstrating that aerosol technology can deliver bodyshop-quality results outside traditional workshop environments.
Central to the demonstration was Samurai's 2K aerosol spray paint, which features a built-in two-component system allowing paint and hardener to mix internally within the can.
The company also deployed its patented Aero Gun applicator and Tintatek colour-matching technology to achieve what it described as professional-level precision without specialist equipment.
Chief executive Ian Ong Yoke En said the event provided "clear, large-scale proof that full car body respraying no longer needs to be confined to professional workshop environments", adding that years of research had enabled the brand to position aerosol as a credible alternative to compressor-based spray systems.
Participants were guided through surface preparation and application procedures, with all 30 vehicles completed within the three-day window.
Samurai Paint said it intends to establish the challenge as an annual event, and marked the occasion with a tree plantation programme at Sireh Park, Iskandar Puteri, planting 30 trees to correspond with the number of vehicles resprayed.
