Purple Holding aerosol solution is “absolutely perfect” for the environment

Purple Holding is a Swedish research company devoted to creating and introducing a more environmentally friendly aerosol solution. World Aerosols hears from chairman Jan Ohlinder and marketing & finance manager Andreas Sahlström Purple Holding was formed by Mikael Sahlström, who co-developed the company’s patented Plug-in Can (PIC) system, and developed the concept with Kenneth Hagman. The PIC system itself features a stabiliser, which eliminates the need for a metal mounting cup and rubber gasket, which acts as the upper-valve housing. The stabiliser seamlessly integrates with the rest of the valve components - including the stem, gasket, spring and valve housing. The stabiliser design not only facilitates open can filling, but also simplifies the can filling process by eliminating the need for a complex valve clinching operation, according to the company. “The valve utilises an injection moulding technique, and we have created the stabiliser component, which contains traditional valve parts already mass produced within the industry,” explained Sahlström. “In order to change as little as possible, the updated version will use 2k moulding, so all gaskets will be...
