Turkish packaging manufacturer Perfektüp is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, reflecting on its evolution from a local aluminium slug and tube producer into a global supplier of aluminium and laminate packaging solutions for the aerosol, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and household goods sectors.

Founded in Istanbul in 1955, the company began exporting in the late 1960s and added aerosol can production in 1975. Today, it operates seven production facilities across Türkiye, Bulgaria, and Italy, with a total capacity of 650 million aluminium tubes, 240 million aerosol cans, and 220 million laminate tubes per year.

One of Perfektüp’s major recent milestones was the 2022 acquisition of Italy’s Tubettificio Favia, a long-established pharmaceutical tube manufacturer. The move strengthened Perfektüp’s position in European markets and created the joint brand Tubettificio Perfektüp.

In 2024, the company launched the first phase of its new Kırklareli Production Campus in northwest Türkiye. The 75,000 m² site includes two new aerosol lines and is designed with energy efficiency and low emissions in mind. Perfektüp says the facility is part of its broader push to modernise production and reduce environmental impact.

Beyond factory development, the company has rolled out other sustainability initiatives, including water-saving systems, a reforestation project that has planted more than 10,000 trees, and ongoing participation in the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s circular economy programme.

Perfektüp currently exports to nearly 50 countries and works with over 200 customers globally. It employs more than 680 people and maintains a strong R&D focus, particularly in product performance and materials innovation.

As it enters its eighth decade, the company says it will continue investing in capacity, quality control and sustainable production while supporting long-term partnerships in the global packaging supply chain.
