Newly-formed metal packaging firm Eviosys launched
The new company, a portfolio business of KPS Capital Partners, was launched as KPS completes its acquisition of Crown Holdings’ Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) metal packaging business. Eviosys is now Europe’s largest manufacturer of steel and aluminium food packaging, with hundreds of global and regional food and consumer product customers.
Headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, Eviosys – which derives from the Greek word for ‘sustainable’ - produces food cans and ends, aerosol cans, metal closures and promotional packaging to preserve the products of hundreds of consumer brands.
The company will focus on unique, smart packaging solutions by combining a 'rich heritage' with enhanced market-leading focus on innovation, research, and development. Sustainability is at the heart of Eviosys, which has a product portfolio centred on 100% recyclable metal substrates.
With seven design studios and three laboratories across Europe, the company will continue its leadership role in smart packaging solutions by offering exciting, innovative ways to help customers differentiate from the competition and harness opportunities for growth.
Tomás López, CEO of Eviosys, said: “This is an incredibly exciting moment for the packaging industry, Eviosys combines 200 years of experience in promoting products and brands, with a future focus on innovating to protect the planet.
“With the business’s extensive footprint across EMEA, the launch of Evoisys means a true step-change for the entire industry that will lead to smart, sustainable packaging for all.”
Eviosys has the largest manufacturing footprint in the region, with 6,300 employees in 44 manufacturing facilities across 17 countries in EMEA. In 2020, it generated €1.9 billion in revenue.
