New disinfectant spray launched to help tackle Covid-19

Sweden-based companies Aurena Laboratories and Lipidor have launched a new disinfectant spray. Aurena Laboratories, which specialises in bag-on-valve medical devices, partnered with Lipidor to offer the new alcohol-based Skin Disinfection Spray to customers across the globe.

In light of the recent outbreak of Covid-19 or Coronavirus, the companies have decided to accelerate the release of the spray to global markets. As part of the product launch, the two companies will donate 10,000 bottles of the disinfectant spray to areas in China that are particularly affected by Covid-19.

“The disinfectant spray is based on our patented AKVANO technology,” said Jan Holmbäck, CSO of Lipidor, “and in addition to effectively killing off viruses, bacteria and fungi through its alcohol content, it moisturises and softens the skin so that it can be used repeatedly, even on sensitive skin."

The spray was tested in accordance with European standards EN 1500 and EN 14476 and was shown to provide effective killing of bacteria as well as both enveloped and non-enveloped viruses, according to Lipidor.

Magnus Hedman, chairman of the board and business development director for Aurena Laboratories added: “We are pleased to be able to provide this effective product that can hopefully make everyday life easier for those who move in virus-exposed environments and want to reduce the risk of virus infection.”
