Honeywell Solstice Propellant used in new disinfectant aerosol

Honeywell has collaborated with Vesismin Health on an easy-to-use, non-flammable and “environmentally-preferable” aerosol solution to treat areas affected by coronaviruses and other infectious organisms.

The solution uses Honeywell’s non-flammable Solstice Propellant (HFO-1234ze) to disperse a broad-spectrum disinfectant against bacteria, fungi and viruses quickly and efficiently using a one-shot aerosol fogger.

Vesismin, which specialises in infection prevention and hospital disinfection, has incorporated Honeywell’s Solstice Propellant into its NDP Air Total + Green CE disinfectant aerosol. The non-toxic disinfectant can be dispersed in hospitals and other enclosed areas, such as offices, vehicles, waiting rooms, changing rooms, laboratories, studios and fitness centres.

“Our customers favour the environmentally-preferable, non-flammable disinfectant product to protect their spaces versus a traditional flammable disinfectant,” said Victor Valles, CEO of Vesismin Health.

“Our NDO Air Total + Green, with the non-flammability of Solstice Propellant, makes our disinfectant safer and easy to use and can accurately treat areas that are difficult to reach, eliminating 99.99% of tested bacteria, fungi and viruses.”

Honeywell’s Solstice Propellant is widely used in a range of aerosol applications, including personal care products, cleaners, insecticides and lubricants. The company’s solutions and services have helped the world’s leading drug manufacturers and biomedical firms enhance operations and improve patients’ lives.

Laura Reinhard, vice-president and general manager of Honeywell Foam & Industrial Products, said: “Our Solstice Propellant is used in various applications as companies look to address the need for a non-flammable solution, while helping them reach their environmental goals and complying with F-gas regulations, without compromising product performance.

“We are proud to partner with Vesismin to deliver a safe and simple solution that is also good for the environment.”
