Grand Tongo is “redefining the insect repellent category”
Grand Tongo is redefining the insect repellent category by making a traditionally nuisance product enjoyable, easy to understand and appealing to the modern consumer, said Cody Johnson, founder of Somer Brands (Grand Tongo).
“We recognised the consumer confusion and resistance against traditional insect repellents due to unclear product claims, unpleasant usage experiences, and concerns about harsh chemicals.
“We designed Grand Tongo to combat these challenges, ensuring a product that is not just effective, but is also pleasant to use, and presented in an understandable and visually appealing manner,” he added.
The name Grand Tongo was chosen because the company wanted to “infuse a ‘jungle vibe’”, which Johnson said was “inspired by Congo/Tonga”.
