Global BioProtect launches compressed air BoV hand sanitiser
US-based Global BioProtect, a manufacturer and supplier of environmentally-friendly cleaning products for commercial use, has launched a new hand sanitiser utilising bag-on-valve (BoV) technology.
The new, patented product comes in a 100% recyclable, air-powered can and is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The water-based sanitiser, enriched with aloe vera and a citrus scent, kills 99.99% of harmful germs, according to Global BioProtect, and is available in non-alcohol and alcohol formulas. It eliminates 45 bacteria, fungi, and viruses, including germs that cause pneumonia, staph infections, colds and the flu, through the use of patented antibacterial technology.
In addition to its antibacterial properties, the sanitiser contains glycerin, which helps to hydrate the skin, preventing dryness and cracks. For industries requiring an alcohol-based hand sanitiser, BioProtect offers a quick-drying alcohol formula, leaving no sticky residue.
The BioProtect hand sanitiser uses compressed air instead of chemicals to disperse the product. Using BoV, the packaging is “effective and precise”, according to the company, allowing for more than 1,000 sprays vs 250 pump applications for an 8-ounce bottle. In a statement, the firm said the product lasts twice as long as traditional hand sanitiser packaging and has an extended shelf life, meaning customers won’t need to buy as much; it also doesn’t spill, making it easy to transport.
Gary Willett, president of Global BioProtect, said: “The pandemic has had a huge impact on businesses, ranging from restaurants to manufacturing facilities. We’re happy to be able to help to adapt quickly and provide a much-needed safe and effective product to protect our customers’ employees and consumers.
“Our new hand sanitiser line extends the sustainable products from BioProtect that are available to a wide range of industries. The BoV can offers more value for money and a packaging option that can be 100% recycled, allowing companies to reduce the amount of trash thrown away.”
In July, the firm will introduce a customisable option for companies to brand the BioProtect hand sanitiser. The white-label product will offer a “seamless option” for companies, as Global BioProtect will handle the design and FDA process.
BioProtect’s non-alcohol sanitiser is also available in a liquid formula in 32-ounce, 64-ounce and 128-ounce refill bottles.
