FEAerosol2020 Lisbon has been postponed
In light of the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19, the FEA decided to postpone FEAerosol2020, which was originally scheduled to take place on 23 and 24 September. In place of the 2020 event, the FEA will host a virtual event on 24 September to provide opportunities for the aerosol community to network with peers.
Two weeks ago, the FEA conducted a survey on expected travel behaviours and restrictions for the forthcoming months. The survey was sent to the exhibitors and expected participants and visitors of FEA Global Aerosol Events. The key outcome was that 25.5% of respondents have difficulties with regard to travel and come to the FEA Global Aerosol Events held in September 2020 in Lisbon, Portugal and 76.6% of respondents confirmed they were imposed travel restrictions by their company.
The FEA is planning to preserve as much of the Aerosol Today conference programme as possible at the Virtual FEAerosol2020 event on 24 September 2020 at times “convenient to all time zones” across the world. All FEAerosol2020 Exhibitors will be offered a platform to present and discuss aerosol-related products and services.
Alan D’Haese, FEA secretary-general, said: “The board of FEA has concluded that without any degree of certainty of what protocols and restrictions will be in place at the time of the events, of how the situation will evolve and after analysing the stakeholders’ feedback, it will be impossible to maintain the dates of 23 and 24 September 2020.
“As multiple aerosol and packaging trade events are already scheduled in 2021 and FEA Global Aerosol Events are biennial events, the board of FEA has decided to postpone the FEA Global Aerosol Events to 21 and 22 September 2022 to be held again at the FIL in Lisbon, Portugal.”
