Diversified CPC International, an industry leader in the production and distribution of high-purity propellants, hydrocarbon refrigerants and specialty gas products, has opened its NGL processing plant in Beaumont, Texas.
The facility features proprietary technology and expansive resources to further the company’s ability to produce, test, certify and distribute high-purity products to a variety of industries.
Construction began in 2020 and has been carried out in phases to effectively equip the plant with the latest manufacturing and safety technology.
The plant is Diversified CPC’s second major NGL refrigerants and high-purity hydrocarbons production and distribution facility; the company’s flagship plant is in Channahon, Ill.
The Beaumont, Texas facility is strategically located to serve customers within the Gulf Coast region and beyond.
“Over the last several years we’ve seen an increase in demand for high-purity hydrocarbon gases and blends,” said David Burks, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Diversified CPC.
“Manufacturers realise the powerful role purity plays in their applications. Our products help them improve sustainability, quality and performance while reducing costs.”
The new facility leverages proprietary technology to produce high-purity hydrocarbons and blends and features an analytical lab, a rail distribution terminal with access to two Class-One railroads, extensive bulk storage and a sophisticated safety system.
“The Beaumont site was chosen for its proximity to our Gulf Coast customer base, access to NGL pipelines, daily rail switching by Iron Horse Terminals (IHT) that operates one of the largest rail terminals in the Gulf Coast region, and ample rail storage opportunities both onsite and at IHT,” said Bill Frauenheim, vice president of operations for Diversified CPC.
“This second NGL processing plant offers our customer base the sustainability they require for products critical to the operation of their facilities while continuing to enjoy the excellent quality and service that benchmarks our commitment to our customers.”
The plant has a two-tower high-purity NGL fractionation system, a process heater, molecular sieve processing towers, process gas refrigeration systems and mercury removal units.
It is the company’s fourth fractionation system. It features a large-scale facility fire protection system that is designed to supply 11,000 gallons per minute (gpm) from a six-million-gallon onsite reservoir.
