Citrefine’s insect repellent embraces sustainability

Emma Wooster, sales support executive at UK-based Citrefine, tells World Aerosols about how the business is integrating eco-friendly solutions into its portfolio.
Citrefine is a UK company that produces Citriodiol®, a natural and sustainably sourced insect repellent active ingredient which is approved by leading regulatory authorities around the world.
“We help our clients produce and market naturally derived insect repellent products through unrivalled marketing, regulatory, technical, product development and market launch support,” said Wooster.
Eco-friendly approach
Earlier this year, the company presented its brand-new application called the Insect Repellent Fabric Spray. The environmentally friendly aerosol application uses Eco-Valve technology from Salvalco, replacing the traditional LPG-powered aerosol with inert nitrogen (a naturally occurring non-toxic gas), and it is supported in Citrefine’s biocidal product family.
The company’s technical team conducted extensive research in seeking out how to develop the most sustainable and eco-friendly product, Wooster told World Aerosols. This led it to Eco-Valve.
