The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) has announced the appointment of Peter Tune as its new technical manager. Peter will begin the role on 30 June, initially working alongside Peter Watmough for a three-month period ahead of his retirement in October.
Joining BAMA from Unilever, where he holds the position of Global Aerosol Development Technologist, Peter Tune brings over 23 years’ experience working across multiple fields within aerosol technology.
As part of the Aerosol Deodorant Format Team, Peter has worked on numerous design best practice, quality investigations, regulations and new concept development initiatives, including projects based around harmonised valve specification for the deodorant category and phthalates legislation. He has remained actively involved with BAMA from the very beginning of his career, serving as a long-time member of the Technical Panel and more recently as Chair.
“We are very pleased to have Peter onboard. His technical expertise, complementary skills and decades of experience in the industry will be invaluable assets to BAMA and our members,” says BAMA chief executive Patrick Heskins.
Peter Tune says: “It’s a pleasure to join the team at BAMA. As a real advocate for being hands-on and furthering quality standards in our industry, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work closely with members, learn from them, and offer practical technical support.
“I’m also looking forward to gaining insights from Peter Watmough over the coming months and feel fortunate to be taking the mantle from such a respected member of the aerosol community.”
Patrick adds: “We would like to express our gratitude to Peter Watmough for his exceptional contributions and are delighted that his tenure at BAMA will include his attendance at the Forum and Awards 2025 where ourselves and our members can come together to wish him all the best for his retirement.”
