Ball Corporation, a global aluminium packaging company, has partnered with Brazilian brands Soffie and Aeroflex to launch the world’s first aluminium aerosol cans certified by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI).

The ASI certification confirms that the aluminium used meets high environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, from extraction to the finished product. The ASI seal on the packaging helps consumers identify products made with responsibly sourced materials.

“These aerosol cans demonstrate how we can work with customers to bring more sustainable packaging options to the market,” said Victoria Marletta, VP Commercial, Personal and Home Care at Ball Corporation.

Soffie’s ASI-certified deodorants, including the Soffie RUN Live and Soffie RUN Ultra lines, are among the first of their kind worldwide. Designed with the running and athletic community in mind, the packaging combines practical functionality with bold design elements aimed at sports enthusiasts.

“We are proud to be the first brand to offer ASI-certified aerosol packaging,” said Clynton Cortez, Founder of Soffie. “Ball has supported us in ensuring our products meet both performance and environmental standards.”

Aeroflex, which produces deodorants, hair sprays, dry shampoos, and body sprays, has also launched ASI-certified aerosol cans. The move reflects the company’s aim to provide more environmentally responsible options while maintaining high design quality.

“This launch aligns with our commitment to responsible packaging,” said Geisa Miksza, Executive Director at Aeroflex. “Working with Ball has allowed us to introduce sustainable options to our customers in a practical and reliable way.”

The development of these cans involved collaboration between Ball’s commercial, sustainability, supply chain, and R&D teams to ensure certified aluminium was used and the ASI logo was applied correctly.
