Avon promotes Skin So Soft Bug Guard repellent
Leading US social selling beauty company accentuates how its DEET-free insect repellent helps to protect consumers against the risk of contracting Lyme disease and other viruses.
Highlighting the prevalence of tick, mosquito and flea-transmitted diseases, the award-winning beauty name emphasises the importance of prevention and protection.
Avon noted how the US Centres for Disease Control (CDC) argues that tick-borne diseases are increasing, particularly in areas where Lyme disease is commonplace.
Avon has a multitude of brands including ANEW, Avon True Color, Espira, and Skin So Soft, which specialise in skin care, colour cosmetics, fragrance, personal care and health and wellness products.
Bug guard collection
The US-based personal care name’s Skin So Soft has launched its Bug Guard Collection, consisting of aerosol sprays, pump sprays and lotions.
Avon’s insect repellents are produced using SPF-enhanced and waterproof formulations. These aim to protect consumers from ticks that may transport and transmit Lyme disease, along with mosquitoes that may carry Zika, West Nile, Dengue and Chikungunya viruses.
The company’s insect repellent collection has also been conceptualised and developed as a DEET-free, PABA-free, dermatologist-tested product that contains vitamin E.
A family audience
"Bug-transmitted illnesses like Lyme disease are always a cause for serious concern this time of year," explained Debi Theis, Vice President, Merchant, Marketing and Product Development, New Avon.
Aiming to appeal to the family target demographic, Theis iterated: "It's important to focus on tick prevention and protective care against bugs and bites so adults and children can continue to enjoy outdoor activities.”
“With Avon's Skin So Soft Bug Guard formulas, consumers can rest assured that they're experiencing maximum insect repellency through formulas that are safe for the whole family,” Theis noted.
