Aptar Beauty marks 60 years of innovation at Verneuil site

Aptar Beauty is celebrating 60 years of manufacturing excellence at its Verneuil d’Avre et d’Iton site in Normandy, France.

Specialising in airless dispensers, aerosol valves, accessories and mini packaging, the site forms a key part of Aptar’s broader “local for local” production strategy.

Founded in 1965, the Verneuil site has grown into a highly versatile operation, supporting moulding, assembly, filling and even cardboard insert production. It works in close collaboration with Aptar’s nearby Le Neubourg and Charleval facilities, delivering packaging and dispensing solutions to major global beauty brands including L’Oréal, Clarins, Pierre Fabre and Creed.

Among the site’s recent innovations is the launch of the Nomad Refill – a refillable fragrance atomiser that can be recharged from a standard bottle in under five seconds. Designed and developed at Verneuil, it demonstrates the site's ability to deliver sustainable, user-friendly solutions at pace.

To further boost efficiency and sustainability, an electric moulding press is also being introduced, projected to cut energy use by around 25% compared to older hydraulic models.

Cyril Chevalier, Operations Director at the Verneuil facility, said the team’s ability to adapt and evolve remains central to its long-term success.

“We continue to reinforce our capabilities and agility so that we can support market transformations while maintaining the excellence of French manufacturing,” he said.

Jean-Noël Coninx, Director of Aptar's Normandy operations, added that the collective ambition is to make Normandy a benchmark for innovation, quality and service in the global prestige beauty market.

Verneuil is also a cornerstone of Aptar’s sustainability efforts. The site recycles 95% of its plastic manufacturing waste, avoids landfill entirely, and is phasing out materials such as POM in favour of more sustainable options. It is ISO certified for quality, environmental management, energy efficiency, and good manufacturing practices.

The anniversary underscores the Verneuil site’s transformation from a local facility into a hub of advanced packaging innovation, particularly for premium fragrance and cosmetic brands. As Aptar Beauty looks to the future, Verneuil will remain a key contributor to its sustainable growth and product leadership.
