Amcor has completed its combination with Berry Global’s Consumer Packaging division, forming a new global leader in flexible packaging with enhanced capabilities across a wide range of end markets - including aerosols.
Operating under the Amcor name, the combined entity is now one of the largest players in the global packaging sector, with a broadened product portfolio spanning flexible and rigid solutions. This includes significant offerings for the personal care, home care and healthcare sectors - key markets for aerosol packaging.
The newly formed business continues to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange and is positioned to drive greater innovation, scale and supply chain efficiency, according to the company.
Importantly for the aerosol industry, both Amcor and Berry bring strong expertise in the development of advanced laminated and barrier materials for pressurised packaging, as well as recyclable and lightweight formats aligned with sustainability goals.
The merger is expected to unlock operational synergies, increase purchasing power and accelerate product development.
It also supports a sharper focus on the circular economy, with a shared commitment to expanding the use of recyclable and bio-based materials.
Executives from both legacy companies have joined forces to lead the integration. They emphasise that customer service, innovation and environmental responsibility will remain core to the group’s growth strategy.
Commenting on the merger, Amcor’s CEO Peter Konieczny said the deal: “Positions us to lead the transition to more sustainable packaging solutions globally, including the aerosol sector where performance and environmental demands continue to evolve.”
