Aerosols, balloons and selfie sticks among banned items at US Superdome

The US Secret Service released a list of prohibited items before the National Championship football game at the Superdome in New Orleans on 13 January, which President Donald Trump attended.

Among the list of banned items at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome were aerosols, ammunition, animals (aside from guide dogs), balloons, drones, glass, thermal or metal containers, selfie sticks and pepper spray. Fans going to the game were advised that there would be additional security screening in advance, according to KALB.

Aerosol sprays are consistently listed as a banned item at events attended by politicians and world leaders due to their potential to be used as explosives.
