Nussbaum Matzingen, a manufacturer of aluminium monobloc cans, has launched its sustainable innovation – an aerosol can made from 100% postconsumer- recycled (PCR) aluminium. It is the first of its kind of aerosol can containing no primary aluminium at all.

Almost every company in the aerosol industry is currently working on sustainability topics. Reducing carbon footprint, avoiding unnecessary transport, and as using lowemission machinery, are only few subjects on the agenda. Promoting products made of recycled material is another aim for many players. The aerosol market has claimed the use of raw material from the circular economy for years. So far, however, this has not been feasible and the material fraction has been determined through life-cycle analysis.
