ABAS elects new council

Conducted transparently and with broad participation from member companies, the election reinforced confidence in ABAS’s governance model and ensured continuity aligned with the association’s long-term strategic objectives, it said.
The newly elected Council represents the continuation of work already under way, with a shared focus on sustainable growth, sector representation and the ongoing professionalisation of the association.
Building on the 2024–2025 biennium
The outgoing 2024–2025 management period was characterised by significant structural and organisational advances, laying strong foundations for ABAS’s future development.
During this period, the association entered a new phase centred on governance, transparency and closer engagement with its membership.
Key achievements during the biennium included the approval of a comprehensive reform of the ABAS Bylaws in November 2025, the creation of a paid Executive Presidency, and a strengthened strategic role for the Administrative Council.
Clear rules were established for eligibility, slate formation and succession planning, alongside the introduction of competitive compliance guidelines, LGPD (Brazil’s General Data Protection Law) requirements and a formal Code of Ethics.
Further milestones included the creation of a Fiscal Council, the implementation of more than 33 internal policies, and the appointment of an external audit firm.
Administrative, financial and legal processes were fully structured, significantly enhancing institutional security, predictability and credibility for both members and the wider market.
Sector leaders reflect on progress
Members of the 2024–2025 Council highlighted the visible evolution of ABAS and the aerosol sector as a whole.
Council representatives pointed to improved transparency, clearer governance structures and stronger integration between member companies as key indicators of progress.
Several councillors also emphasised the growing national and international visibility of Brazil’s aerosol industry, supported by ABAS’s engagement with policymakers, Congress and global industry agendas.
Despite a challenging market environment, the consensus among Council members was that the sector is now better positioned for long-term stability and growth.
As ABAS transitions into the 2026–2027 biennium, the association enters the next phase with strengthened leadership, robust governance frameworks and a renewed commitment to representing and advancing Brazil’s aerosol industry.
